New on KERC!
November
provides a focus on Technology Rich Classrooms: Changing Teaching and Learning
Across the State
November
will provide opportunities for interested
schools, school leaders, community and public to experience the exciting
classroom changes spreading across Kansas. Since 2003, 168 classrooms in 70
elementary schools have participated in a Title IID Competitive Grant
initiative that has invested over $7 million dollars to improve learning in the
content areas in our state. They are called Technology Rich Classrooms, and
they are changing the way teachers teach and students learn. The vision behind
the statewide grant is the integration of technology, standards, and best
practices to make learning without limits a reality. Targeted at Grades 3-6,
the TRC project provides students access to 21st century learning tools that
inspire creativity, communication and collaboration, while building
content-area knowledge in reading, math or science. In November, six of the
Technology Rich Classroom Schools
will open their doors to visitors who would like to see first hand the exciting
changes that are happening!
The Technology Rich
Classrooms (TRC) project is a collaborative partnership between the Kansas
State Department of Education-Technology Assistance for Kansas Educators
(TAKE), and The Advanced Learning Technologies in Education Consortia (ALTEC),
and Wexford, Inc.
